The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a five-day FDP on Advanced Computing and Sustainable Technologies in collaboration with FORCE and IETE. The speaker was welcomed by Dr. Shailendra Tahilyani, Convener of FDP. Day 1 featured Dr. Vipin Chandra Pal, NIT Silchar, discussing time-delay challenges in real-time systems and Lyapunov stability, providing both theoretical foundations and practical methods to handle delays. Day 2, led by Dr. Vibha Sinha, KCC Institute, focused on Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security, explaining AI and machine learning techniques for threat detection, malware analysis, and automated security tools. On Day 3, Mr. Aditya Kushwaha, NSUT Delhi, presented mixed-dimensional high-performance photo and gas sensors, highlighting nanomaterials, sensing mechanisms, and computational analysis. Day 4, Mr. Anand Mohan Tiwari, Dell Technologies, detailed Linux OS architecture, kernel, and device driver development, covering user/kernel space, storage drivers, and multithreading. Day 5, Dr. Shailendra Kumar, Integral University, emphasized ICT tool upgradation for student-centric teaching, promoting digital platforms, flipped classrooms, and active learning. The Speaker for Day 3 was Mr. Aditya Kushwaha, Research Scholar, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, New Delhi, India. The speaker was welcomed by Dr. Shailendra Tahilyani, Convener of FDP. The FDP session on “Mixed Dimensional based High-Performance Photo and Gas Sensors” offered a concise yet informative overview of advanced sensor technologies. It introduced the basics of nanotechnology and highlighted how nanoscale materials improve sensitivity. The concept of mixed-dimensional sensors, combining 0D, 1D, and 2D materials, was discussed for their enhanced performance. Various sensing mechanisms—including electrical and optical signal changes—were explained to show how devices detect external stimuli. The session also covered Mulliken population analysis, a computational method used to study charge distribution and bonding, helping interpret sensor–molecule interactions. Overall, the session effectively connected material science, device design, and theoretical analysis for next-generation sensors. Renowned as a leading brand in the industry, Steelbird Helmets has garnered applause for its unwavering commitment to safety, innovation, and superior craftsmanship. During this visit, the HR manager, Mr Vishal Tyagi graciously guided students through the intricate manufacturing processes of the company. With expertise and enthusiasm, he elucidated the various stages involved in crafting helmets of exceptional quality. In addition to manufacturing, the HR manager also shed light on the assembly and painting processes within the facility. Students gained valuable insights into the sophisticated techniques employed to ensure durability, aesthetics, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The Department of Management at Babu Banarasi Das Institute of Technology and Management (BBDITM) organized a two-day orientation program for the new MBA batch under the banner “Prarambh@MBA – Begin, Believe, Become.” The event was held on 24th–25th September 2025 at Steppers Hall.
The objective of the program was to warmly welcome the new students, familiarize them with the ethos of the institution, and provide an overview of academic, professional, and extracurricular opportunities. The event was thoughtfully curated with formal addresses, cultural activities, guest lectures, and engaging sessions conducted by various student clubs.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Shaniya Shukla, President, UDGHOSH Forum and Divya Singh, General Secretary UDGHOSH Forum, who greeted the dignitaries, faculty, and new students. The orientation commenced with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, accompanied by Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing the beginning of a new academic journey blessed with knowledge and wisdom.
A soulful Ganesh Vandana by Vipasha Verma, Student MBA Second Year, was performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, marking the auspicious start of the program with positivity and good fortune. Students were introduced to the history, achievements, and vision of the BBD Group of Institutions. The presentation highlighted the legacy of academic excellence and the vibrant student culture that the new batch was now a part of.
The two-day program successfully oriented students to institutional values, academic frameworks, placement opportunities, and extracurricular initiatives. Students enthusiastically engaged in sessions led by faculty and clubs, while cultural activities added vibrancy. The program created a balance of learning, interaction, and celebration, marking an inspiring start to the MBA journey.
Prof. Dr. Divya Gangwar, Head of the Department, addressed the gathering and shared words of encouragement. Prof. Dr. Anurag Tiwari, Director of BBDITM, motivated the students to aim high and utilize the institution’s resources to shape themselves into competent professionals. Prof. Dr. S.H. Abdi, Registrar, highlighted the importance of values, professionalism, and continuous learning as key attributes of successful managers. Mr. Satyabhan Behuria, from the Training and Placement Cell, introduced students to the placement process and emphasized the importance of building skills, confidence, and industry readiness from the very beginning.
Day 2 of the Orientation Programme featured the active participation of the four departmental clubs under the Udghosh Forum — the Social Club, Finance Club, Entrepreneurship Development Club (EDC), and Human Resource (HR) Club. Each club showcased its objectives, upcoming plans, and the diverse activities conducted throughout the academic year to enhance students’ managerial and leadership skills.
A series of engaging activities, games, and interactive sessions were organised by these clubs to create a lively and participative environment. The first-year students also presented various performances including songs, skits, dance, and motivational speeches, which added enthusiasm and vibrancy to the programme.
The Orientation not only served as an introductory platform for the students but also encouraged them to actively engage in departmental initiatives, maintain discipline, and contribute to the growth of the Udghosh Forum.
