Information Technology serves as the foundation for various technological advancements that the world sees today. The department of Information Technology offers engineering programme at the undergraduate as well as at the post graduate levels. The syllabus includes several practical papers and challenging projects. The curriculum is also enriched with management papers to give an exposure to student in the field of corporate management.

Information Technology at BBDITM, the Best Information Technology (IT) Engineering Institute undertakes unique approach to educate the students for the emerging yet highly challenging industry of innovators. The department was established in the year 1999 with an initial intake of 60 students. The intake was increased to 90 in the year 2000 & thereafter 120 in the year 2002. The department has qualified and experienced faculty and technically competent supporting staff on its rolls. The course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of information technology with emphasis on applications together with technical skills. The department also encourages innovative projects and quality research in various interrelated domains. The department emphasis the use of learning tools for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, case study, project work, practical exposure, assignments, quiz, seminars, industry visits are some of the methods used for teaching learning process.

The department has qualified and experienced faculty in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks, Data Mining, Database Systems, Neural Networks, Web Technology, Wireless and Sensor Networks, and Operating System.

Infrastructure Structure Facilities

There are fully equipped laboratories in department such as: Computer Programming Lab, DBMS Lab, Software Engineering Lab, Networking Lab, Project Lab, R & D Lab. Research in the department focuses on creating and evaluating innovative learning that is inspired by technical progress.

All the Laboratories of the Department are connected through high speed Fibre Optics, WiFi connectivity; internet connectivity is available in the Department.
